Support through trauma, emotional distress, and overwhelming experiences

Supporting older youth and adults experiencing trauma, complex trauma, addictions, self-harm, emotional overwhelm and difficult life experiences.

Sometimes the experiences we carry can affect how we see ourselves, relate to others, and cope with everyday life. Trauma, difficult family experiences, loss, addiction and overwhelming emotions can leave you feeling stuck, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward.

Jenn offers a compassionate, grounded and non-judgmental space to explore what you are experiencing. She has experience supporting older youth and adults who are navigating trauma and complex trauma, substance use and addictions, self-harm, anxiety, grief, and significant family or life challenges.

Her approach is collaborative, trauma-informed and responsive to each person's individual needs. Jenn draws from somatic and polyvagal-informed therapy, narrative therapy, DBT-informed strategies and other evidence-informed approaches to help clients develop greater emotional regulation, understanding and resilience.

Jenn also recognizes the important role that culture, identity, family and community can play in healing and is committed to providing culturally safe, respectful and inclusive care.

Trauma, Addictions & Emotional Regulation

Trauma and complex life experiences can affect emotional regulation, relationships, self-worth and the ways we learn to cope. For some people, substance use or self-harm can become ways of managing emotions or experiences that feel difficult to hold alone.

Jenn works with clients to understand these patterns without judgment while developing safer and more effective ways of coping. Counselling may involve building emotional regulation skills, understanding the impact of trauma, exploring relationships and family patterns, processing difficult experiences, and strengthening connection, confidence and resilience.

Her work is paced according to each client's needs, with an emphasis on creating safety, trust and a strong therapeutic relationship.
